Shake up equal parts nostalgic cocktail curator and modern mixology provocateur and you’ll wind up with Mr. Travis Nass, spirit guide and marketing director at CaskWerks Distilling Company. For years, Nass’ DIY approach to his own housemade bitters, tinctures, syrups and tonics to keep his craft cocktails on every must-drink list in the nation.

At CaskWerks, Nass works alongside master distiller John Miller and team members Rick Burch and Chris Labelle to expand the availability of Caskwerks spirits throughout Arizona as well as enhance name recognition for the distillery through events and promotions.

With more than 10 years under his belt buckle, Nass has been mixing drinks since the day he turned 21. Since then, his dedication to the craft has grown in an unconventional way; honing his craft not behind the bar, but rather inside a professional Japanese kitchen and later, under the tutelage of award-winning Arizona chefs and ultimately earning a coveted “Beverage Master” induction into the Arizona Culinary Hall of Fame.

Travis’ influence and leadership continue to grow here in the Southwest, having just been voted as the new vice president of the United States Bartenders Guild’s Phoenix chapter.
