Executive Chef Mel Mecinas


Arriving to the Valley more than a decade ago, self-made culinarian Meliton “Mel” Mecinas has been creating award winning culinary masterpieces for restaurant goers for years. One of the greater Phoenix area’s most influential culinary leaders, Mecinas has his own style as a chef that has been shaped by a lifetime of hard work and an absolute passion for his craft.


Until recently, Mecinas was the Executive Chef at the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North. He cooked at the James Beard House two summers in a row, positioned Talavera steakhouse to be one of the most respected and recognized restaurants in the Valley, and was a major contributor to the birth and success of Proof – An American Canteen. Today, he is the Executive Chef at one of the country’s most exclusive private clubs, Scottsdale National Golf Club. His penchant for creating perfectly balanced menus using fresh, farm-to-table ingredients has resulted in numerous accolades over the years. In 2016 Mecinas was named “Chef of the Year” and was inducted into Scottsdale Culinary Festival Hall of Fame.
